Jenny Uglow needs no introduction to members of the Biographers’ Club. She is the acclaimed biographer of The Lunar Men, winner of the James Tait Black and Hessell-Tiltman prizes; she has written superb lives of Charles II, Hogarth and Thomas Bewick, among many others. Her most recent book  Mr Lear: A Life of Art and Nonsense was published last year to rave reviews. Jenny Uglow has pursued a successful career as editorial director of publishers Chatto & Windus.
