Philippa Bernard

Philippa’s first biography was the life of the poet Kathleen Raine. She has also written The History of Westminster Synagogue, Out of the Midst of the Fire (the story of the rescue of a thousand Scrolls of the Law from the Czech Republic), and was General Editor of Antiquarian Books: A Companion. She and her husband owned Chelsea Rare Books for 35 years, and she lectures on Anglo-Jewish history, among other subjects.
